Life & Pensions
Market Comment
The Life and Pensions sector has seen some recovery from the market downturn but is battling through some profound regulatory and financial change. Solvency II requires not just financial reengineering but a review of the customer proposition and the corporate culture. January 2013 sees the abolition of commission in relation to investment products and the removal of factoring arrangements will have major cash flow repercussions for distributors. The development of alternative distribution; the need for DIY financial planning; the growth in wrap platforms and reformed price transparency mark profound changes in the life company sector, requiring adaptation..
